On the morning of Tuesday, February 11, 2025, the HCCL, attended the press conference and kick-off ceremony as part of Jefferson Parish’s Bicentennial celebration at the General Government Building in Gretna with Jefferson Parish President Cynthia Lee Shang, and organizations like JEDC, Jefferson Community Education, and the Jefferson Parish Chamber of Commerce.
Jefferson Parish has the largest Hispanic population in the state of almost 80,000. That is 18% of the Jefferson Parish population. About a quarter of the Hispanic population in Jefferson Parish lives in and around Kenner.
